“Indeed, how could exile be an obstacle to a person’s own cultivation, or to attaining virtue when no one has ever been cut off from learning or practising what is needed by exile?”  Musonius Rufus, Lectures.

There is something new in every experience we have. As flowing water means the river is never the same river, so our experience – in the here-and-now – can never be the same as past experiences. What is certainly ‘new’ and ‘different’ this time is the attitude you choose. Viktor Frankl argued that your power to choose your attitude is the only true power that cannot be taken away from you.

What attitude will you choose to explore your world today, no matter how small it may feel? What will you learn in these times of social exile?
