Unless we learn the discipline of being critical of our own perceptions, instead of taking everything at face value and reacting to it, we will find ourselves at the mercy of the windmills of our mind – forever turning over and over and making unchecked and unqualified thoughts into facts that can promote unwanted emotions.

 

Thoughts are not facts. Where’s your evidence? And even if what you initially perceived has some element of truth in it, to what extent is it true? Take a reality check.
