Time to think…about leisure and study

“Leisure without study is death – a tomb for the living person.” Seneca, Moral Letters.

Need we say more about this? If we choose not to, perhaps then we fall victim to the very concept itself, in that we look no deeper into the reasons why we can so easily waste away our time in mindless and pointless pursuits, all in the interest of ‘entertainment’, but leaving nothing behind in its place to suggest a useful change has taken place. It’s better to spend 5 minutes staring at the clouds and trees but in a state of self-reflection, than it is to spend the same amount of time being directed (guided, influenced, manipulated) by the flickering images on your TV screen.
