Time to think…a path to serenity

When you really crave something that is out of your reach, you’re disappointed when you cannot have it. When you hope to avoid the things that fill you with dread, you feel scared and sad when misfortune befalls you. What do you wish for in life? Health, wealth and happiness? Only one of these is in your control – what you choose ‘being happy’ to mean.

Reinforce your habit of being content with what you have – here and now. Before you settle down to sleep for the night, write down somewhere the three things that you are grateful for today. For some, having a comfortable bed in a safe place will be on their list. There is so much that can be taken from us, be grateful for what you have.
